The Louisiana Beefmaster Breeders Association began April 6, 1996 with the merging of two Beefmaster marketing groups. The first marketing group, Louisiana Beefmaster Marketing Group, was formed in Lake Charles, Louisiana around 1980. The second group, the North Louisiana Beefmaster Marketing Group, had been formed in Shreveport, Louisiana.

Both marketing groups were attending the annual Shreveport sale on April 5, 1996 and held a vote to merge Beefmaster marketing efforts in Louisiana.

Since then, LBBA members have worked to promote Beefmaster cattle within the state of Louisiana.

 

The association holds a Spring sale each year. The LBBA Spring Sale is held the first Saturday of April in Kinder, Louisiana.

The general membership meeting is held on the Friday

before the sale.
